My mother is always overstepping her boundaries?
My son is gonna be one in a month and my mother wants to throw his party. She has already bought the plates, cups, etc. However, I just spoke to her and she told me that she got a banner made with the name “Skip” on it. The problem is, that isn’t his name. It’s not even his nickname, just something she just made up and wants everyone to start calling him. I know he’s only one and some may say it isn’t a big deal, But, he is Banner Cake Concessions a junior and she doesn’t like his real name (never even heard her say it) because she doesn’t like his father. She is intentionally trying to start trouble with him again. I just feel as though it’s a sign of disrespect and when I told her, I would just get the banner myself she hung up the phone on me. Everyone calls him by his real name and it will be awkward if everything (banner, invitations, cake, etc) has another name on it.Also, if his father finds out, he would probably be pissed and may just want the two of us to plan it. We have no problem paying for everything and throwing the party ourselves. I just don’t want there to be hostility between them.
