What a stunningly beautiful book FROM MUD TO JUGS is! Professor John Burrison’s sequel to BROTHERS IN CLAY is printed on fine glossy paper and contains dozens of exquisite color photographs of pottery, many of them taken by the author himself. Although Burrison says in his “Preface” that the book is a companion and sequel to his previous book, his latest certainly stands on its own and contains information piled on information about the folk pottery tradition in Northeast Georgia around Cleveland and Gillsville. He says that he is writing for the non-specialist audience, new readers to the subject, and that his goal is to both “introduce readers to one of the last places in the United States where traditional pottery still flourishes” and to support the Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia with all the royalties from the sale of this book going to that museum. (Burriston devotes chapter 9, “A Home for North Georgia Folk Pottery,” to a discussion of the museum). The author

2005 Chevy Impala 3.4L constantly over heating?
I have a 2005 Chevrolet Impala with a 3.4L engine it in. Around 75-80K miles on it, it started to overheat a lot, like the coolant was leaking from it, I kept having to put coolant in it. Eventually that stopped working. I took it to a repair place, first they said that the water pump went bad, so I replaced it (well they did). 3 months went by and it started to overheat again. I took it back to them, then they said it was either a blown head gasket or a cracked head, but they would need to tear the engine apart before they knew which one it was and the estimated repair was $1600-2500. I called around to a couple places and I explained the problem to mechanics not 2 of them Jug Pump Fundraiser thought it was the same problem. Thus far I have:Replaced the water pumpReplaced the intake manifold gasket.Had the radiator checked out.Thermostat replaced (this was done during the intake manifold replacement)The last thing I did was I had the radiator flushed and it worked fine for about 6 months, now the problem appears to be back. My temperature gauge starged to look hot, then went back down. I checked my coolant after the enginge cooled down and the jug was nearly empty and there wasn’t much left in the radiator either (there were no air bubbles in the hoses.. I’ve learned a lot)I’m not sure what else I can check besides a cracked head. My BF is a mechanical engineer and said before the intake manifold was replaced he could smell coolant when I came over, but that has since gone away when the intake manifold was replaced & the radiator was flushed. I haven’t noticed anything leaking and I don’t smell coolant when I get out of the car.Any ideas? As much as I’d like to just give up on it and trade it in and get something else I owe more then its worth right now, and I don’t want to add that to the loan of another car, I always pay one off before I get a new one. Thanks!I know there is a overall problem with the 3.4L engine doing this, GM was lost a class action lawsuit for the same issue but they werent require to notify owners and the problem got bad just after that expired and right after my warranty did..Also, there is no recall on it.
