Is my hate irrational?
I like to think I am a good person, but I lost it today. Tell me if you think I need professional help or if I was justified. To start with, I ordered a movie online and went to the redbox to retrieve it. There was a line, as normal. I waited patiently while the inconsiderate people in front of me “browsed” the selection. The guy right in front of me (big black dude) was on the machine and he turned to me and said….”I have to run to my truck, I will be right back, hold my place. I just went ahead and got my movie (took less than 45 seconds). He came back and started yelling at me for going ahead of him. No problem, I just told him “I planned ahead, ordered online and I am done….take your time, dont mind the others waiting behind while you make up your mind….because after all, it is Machine Four Selection your world….right?”I run into the store to pick up a few items. There are three (black ladies) in front of me and of course they have a coupon. The guy at the check out tells them they do not have the correct item for the coupon. I am not lying when I say it took three managers over ten minutes of explaining it before I lost my cool. I said “how much are we talking about here? Three or four dollars…..I tell you what, just let me pay the difference and we can all move on with our lives.” They got very offended saying “you think because I am black I cant afford this?” I said “Not at all, but in case you have not noticed, there are now twenty people in line waiting for you to figure out that you have the wrong item.” I just left my buggy and went home. Why are people so inconsiderate? Its like they go out of their way to slow down the system. If they can make “whitey” wait, by god they will do it. I get this way with people a lot lately. If I ever get diagnosed with a terminal illness, I am going to thin the herd before I check out.For the record…my hate is color blind. I hate slow white people, slow brown people and slow yellow people. I just think I do all I can to grease the wheels of society and everyone else exists to slow me down. It really bothers me when I slow someone else down. I will give up my place in line if the guy behind me has fewer items, I will not make a complicated order at burger king etc. I just need to find my inner happy place. After getting home, and relaxing….I understand how silly I was to get angry. I know it does not mean anything. I just need some relaxation meds. Thanks all.
