Caughy has given us a compact, true story of Eric Liddell; it is engrossing, heart-felt, and warming. He was humble, and a true man of God that we can all look up to for his exceptional faith and courage. There was much more to this man than what we saw in the movies, and as a track star winning a gold medal at the 1924 Olympics:Liddell was born and raised by missionary parents in China during the Boxer rebellion. His family moved back to England, in order give the children a proper education, though his parents soon returned to China and left the children to be raised by grandparents.
