I admit, I am not usually a reader of the Urban Fiction genre, but I was intriqued when I found out Altered Destiny was written by a Christian author. The cover is certainly eye-catching and not typical of most Christian Fiction novels. I didn’t want to judge the book by its cover, so I gave it a try. The story is about a young woman who seemingly makes all the wrong choices in her tragic existence. She is given many chances to turn her life around, but instead follows her own will instead of God’s direction. Without giving too much of the plot away, let’s just say that her misguided decisions eventually bring disastrous and eternal consequences. The ending is quite stirring and thought-provoking.From a critical standpoint, I liked the way the author used first-person narrative between Jesus and the main character (I assume the girl on the cover represents Sasha Miller). I wished this technique was used more throughout the book, as it was the strongest part of the author’s writing. I
