Reading this book is like being stuck at a cocktail party of dull, pretentious intellectual naval gazers–all speaking in the same voice. Nothing happens and I didn’t care about one character or their blathering. Having said that, there were passages that were pure Sue Miller and she is a beautiful writer. I just wish she had, in this book, something to say.
