My wife and I were going to be taking a Precious Metal class and we wanted to have some idea about techniques and equipment before we started.

We went to a bookstore and looked in the craft section. The first book we looked at was “Metal Clay In A Day” by Tammy Garner. We didn’t have to look at any other books. We opened it up and the first thing that hit us was the clear, close up pictures. Many pictures in instructional books are not clear or close enough. Tammy’s pictures show in great detail what she is trying to describe.

I ended up bringing the book to the class, and actually made the coiled “snake” pendant. It was so simple, and it turned out great.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone, whether a beginner, or someone who’s experienced with precious metal clay.
