This book is a must for any parenbt or therapist dealing with graduating seniors and college age kids. I am so impressed with Apter’s depiction of “thresholders” feelings and how helpful it is to us parents launching our children. If I had not read this book, I am positive I would have perpetuated the myth of maturity and hurt my young adult child in the process.

Valuable even as an 8-year-old book. I’ve recommended it to ALL of my friends with high school/college age children.

how do i remove a hose clamp?
my dishwasher is clogged and there is a pool of water at the bottom. I have done the baking soda and vinegar thing and poured draino at the drain at the bottom. I havent figured out how to remove the drain at the bottom either if anyone has any idea how to remove that one that would be great too. there is no screw to unscrew but its attached Apter Soda Machine Drain Cleaner somehow by this little thing in the middle that looks like a circle divided in half. its a whirlpool dishwasher dont know the model but it less than year old. i dont have the manual because we live in an apt. Anyways my original question is i am trying to remove the hose that is connected to the garbage disposal and see if a clog there is causing the problem but its not the common hose clamp like the ones used in washers. it kinda looks like this http://www.rd.com/images/tfhimport/2003/20030901_Washing_Machine_Leaks_page003img002.jpg any ideas how to get that off?by the way i dont have an air gapthanksits a clamp like the one in this pic on the lefthttp://media.rd.com/rd/images/rdc/family-handyman/2003/10/Replacing-Dishwasher-12-ss.jpg
