I need help with doubling a pie recipe?
here is the recipe:Set oven= 350For crust:flour: one cupSugar: 1 Tablespoonsalt: 1/2 TablespoonUnsalted butter: 5-6 Tablespoon (depending on humidity in room)Apples for filling:2 apples, thin slicesSugar: 2 Tablespooncinnamon: 1/2 teaspoonnutmeg: 1/8 teaspoonlemon juice: 1 teaspooncornstarch: 2 teaspoonWhat to do:-put flour, sugar, and salt in large bowl-cut butter Inch Double Bubble into this until mixture resembles cornmealadd UP TO 6 tablespoons of ice water and mix until just combined, add only one Tablespoon at a time.-line the 4 inch pie plate with one half of the dough. be sure to roll it out flat.for apples: core, peel, slice thinly, toss the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch together in a bowl, then add in the apples, stirring until each apple is evenly coated. fill the pie crust with apples.-then, drap remaining dough over filling and slice vents.-crimp edges.-bake until filling is bubbling and pie crust if golden, 25-30 minutes. I am 15 and not to sure if I need to double EVERYTHING here. It seems unlikely that i will have to make the oven 700 degrees… if anyone could help me formulate a recipe that is double the one here, I would greatly appreciate it!
