The reason for her green skin is explained in the book and the musical “Wicked,” which is told from the Witch’s point of view. However, “Wicked” was written decades after “The Wizard of Oz.” Why was she green in the original book and movie? I’m sure they had a reason Green Wizard to make her green. After all, green people don’t exist in real life.Dear Abby,I know that Wicked was written by a different author and decades after the movie. I even said so in my question. And the reason why I said “green people don’t exist” is to prove my point that there had to be a reason to make her green. They wouldn’t just say “let’s make her green” for no reason. She’s also the only character with an unnatural skin color.
